Sebastián Peyceré was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the 2nd of july, in1966.
He studied the instrument privately with Carlos Riganti y Alejandro Varela over Bercklee College’s texts, and harmony with Juan Cirigliano y Santiago Giacobe.
His influences were Tony Williams, Steve Gadd, Billy Cobhan, Jack de Johnette, Elvin Jones, John Bonham and Dennis Chambers.
By the time he was 16 he began his professional career playing in a very important rock group called Dulces 16.
After that he has also performed and recorded with other interesting groups like Touch, El Ghetto, Lito Epumer, Javier Malosetti Trio (which was supporting group to John Scofield and Joe Zawinul) moving towards a fusion of jazz, funk, latin , soul and other elements.
He played with the trombonist Conrad Herwing and the trumpetist Diego Urcola (Paquito D’Rivera as guest artist).
He also played as supporter to B. B. King, Mike Stern, Stanley Jordan, Dave Weckl and Dennis Chambers’s perfomances.
In 1991 he gave clinics with Scott Henderson.
He was also professor at the Tecnologic Institute of Contemporary Music (ITMC).
In 1995 he went to New York. There he played in jam sessions at Blue Note, Visions and Smalls with american musicians.
In 1997 he was selected to play at the Zildjian Day with Dennis Chambers and Simon Phillips.
In 1999 he toured around the country with Luis Salinas.
Sebastian Peyceré released his first album as a soloist, “En que sentido”, in the beginning of the year 2001. This album contains a compilation taken from different stages of the artist, shared with great argentine and other latitudes musicians.
He leads a new music project since then, the “Sebastián Peyceré Quinteto” with which he is permanently performing in the various surroundings of the national jazz scene.
On december 2002 he was distinguished by the Argentine Drummers Club Association with the “Outstanding Drummer of the Year” award.
Besides his personal proyect, he is active as freelance musician, performing and recording with different artists and styles.
