The CoNtEmPoRâNeA is a society of instrumental music created by five Brazilian musicians who have been playing and composing together for about ten years and are now bringing to the world, with the same passion dedicated to all those years at the “Sobre as Ondas Piano Bar” in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, music of high quality, with all the creativity and sophistication of the Brazilian music.
The repertoire features the best of the best Brazilian composers like Tom Jobim, Hermeto Paschoal, Ion Muniz, João Donato and Gilberto Gil. Due to the great experience gathered in recording studio sessions or playing with great Brazilian artists, the arrangements of songs like ‘Passarim’, ‘Bananeira’, ‘Canto Geral’, ‘O ôvo’ and ‘Arrôxo na Boca’ and the personal performance of each musician on these songs, take the audience into a trip around the great and rich variety of Brazilian rhythms.
The CoNtEmPoRâNeA features Tito Freitas on the piano and keyboards, Aluízio Veras plays the bass, Amaro Jr. plays the drums and percussion, Val Oliveira plays the Tenor sax and flute, Alexandre Moraes plays the guitars and vocal.
The responsible for the production and the quality of the sound of the band is the sound engineer Márcio Lira.
The CD that is going to put The CoNtEmPoRâNeA on the road is being mixed. It was recorded at Estudio Copacabana under the Executive Production of Anderson Rocha. The repertoire has some brand new songs composed by the musicians of the band and new composers of the instrumental brazilian music.
