Jellywhip is Groove. It is the second cousin to funk, a nephew to Jazz and that scanky little brother of soul. Comprised of some of Melbourne's top musicians, Jellywhip creates a sound that is infectious and after you've tasted it you know you’ve been ‘whipped’.

Jellywhip draws on the masters of Soul, Funk and Jazz of the past to usher in a new idea, a personal point of view on the tried and true. The combination of outstanding songs, often stunning improvisations and soulful vocals create an experience that stamps an indelible mark on the souls of those who get with the feeling. So what are you waiting for?!...... GET
JELLYWHIPPED!

Based in Melbourne, Australia, Jellywhip was founded on the belief that the best crowd response comes from high energy, danceable rhythms. The inclusion of Afro-Cuban percussion is a vital element to the immediate ‘need to move’ feeling the audience gets.

When the current line up first played together the energy of that formula was as immediate as the Crowd response. The Band loved playing together and the crowd got into it. Since early 2001 Jellywhip has been playing in the club scene and has gained a following dedicated to its funky sounds. A comment that people often make about Jellywhip is how much we enjoy ourselves on stage. We believe that this because Jellywhip is comprised of members who are friends as well as professional musicians. This band relationship gives Jellywhip its unreserved party vibe.

Jellywhip is also versatile, from an economical yet powerful trio to a fully equipped booty shaking Funk Monster that slides neatly under your bed, Jellywhip can accommodate any venue, big or small.
